Introduction

Administrator’s Toolkits for Mathematics and Science

Principals and other administrators serve as the instructional leaders in a school district.  What exactly does this mean?  How can you readily access a wide range of resources, data and information to provide teachers with the support they need to be effective?  At SMART, we realize your plate is full while your time is limited, so we created this “Administrator’s Toolkits for Mathematics and Science”.

Inside this portal you’ll find a toolkit for mathematics and one for science.   Each toolkit includes links to: research articles, general information documents, the newly revised Ohio standards, information on assessment and other items of interest.   We will be adding links and information to each toolkit during the school year so visit it often.

Our goal is to keep you abreast of research, share information about best practices, and provide you with tips for working with teachers in an effort to support you in your role as an instructional leader.

Be sure to browse our professional development offerings.  We’ll bring sessions to your district or you can join us here at the Ideacenter.  We offer the following professional development opportunities to assist you in meeting your responsibilities as an instructional leader:

  • An Introduction to Assessment for Learning for Principals & Supervisors

  • Lenses on Learning Leadership Institute for Mathematics Supervision

  • School Leadership for Effective K-8 Mathematics & Science Instruction

  • Navigation and use of the SUCCESS website
